Webhosting Blues - Don't make me switch
So, this morning, I was going to post a blog on my main site http://nicknorris.net. I started typing, went to save it as a draft, and got an error message CANNOT FIND SERVER. I didn't think anything of it, and assumed that it was probably my wireless router. I went on to some other sites, and everything was working (on the other sites). I got a little worried and started checking out all of my sites, and all of my clients sites. EVERYTHING was down. The only site that I could access was the WHM panel on my main reseller's account. This was about 3 or 4 hours ago.
Normally, I would think of a 3 or 4 hour turnaround on a support ticket acceptable, but when I personally have [roughly] 30 websites sitting there that cannot be accessed, this is not your average support request. It is critical, and they are not responding.
The customer support phone number goes straight to voicemail. I left a message, and like the emails and support tickets, there is no response. Now, I can assume that the people over at Vexxhost are working hard to fix this issue; however, they do not have any updates or notices on their website. I also know that this is not an isolated issue with just my WHM account, because I found a dude named James on Twitter who is having the same issue. They have not responded to him either.
If it were a year or two ago, I would just move all of my sites over to a new hosting company. In fact, I am looking into MediaTemple right now, but moving all of these sites will take literally DAYS to move. I'm probably going to move everything, but just not yet. First, I need to be able to access the sites, and I can't do that right now. I can them access through FTP, but not any other way.
Oh well, I'll get over it, and they'll fix the issue, and I won't go anywhere, and I'll read this blog and judge myself for overreacting. But whatever. Normally, I would post this on my personal blog, but my personal blog is not working because Vexxhost is effing things up right now. They're lucky that they're not on Twitter, because I would be hounding them right now.
